My two year review at work is this month. To kick it off, they want me to write up short term and long term goals that I can work on and update with subsequent reviews. This is really hard since, if I’m being honest, my short term goals would read:
Get trained in everything there’s any job demand for.
Get consulting job doing same thing with better benefits and twice the salary.
Quit.
Or, if everybody is too afraid of our ridiculous no-compete contract:
Get trained in everything there’s any job demand for.
Save a ton of money.
Quit. Spend year screwing around.
Get consulting job doing same thing with better benefits and twice the salary.
Long term goals would have to read something like:
Move back to somewhere properly civilized.
Run screaming to grad school.
Never look back.
So, spend the afternoon lying, shall we?
