The long silver piece of metal on that cop’s key ring is a kubatan aka bone shatterer. It’s a nasty little maiming weapon favored by martial artists of late because it gets through security screenings without setting off any alarms. Assume anybody carrying one is capable and willing to cripple you.
This is the first time I’ve spotted an unconventionally armed cop. As somebody who has experience with a kubatan, cops should not carry them.
