The part that gets me is this: “One of the men to be released is Lakhdar Boumediene, whose landmark Supreme Court case last summer gave the Guantanamo detainees the right to challenge their imprisonment.”
It was great news at the time, but looking back on it as a note in the bigger picture, that in the US somebody would have to fight for the rights of due process, ick. Just…ick.
